Dr. Dowling's clinical testing served to confirm our belief in the superior results and effects of the Afterburner® system on muscle intensity. Even on our earliest prototype, higher levels of muscle activation and muscle intensity were produced that can be achieved with conventional strength training methods and equipment.

Since this study was conducted, significant refinements to the ease of controls have been made so that even inexperienced users can produce and maintain greater muscle intensity on virtually each and every repetition. This holds true for both our semi automatic and fully automated control systems.

Scientific research notwithstanding, we consider the most substantive confirmations of the success of our designs to be from those who have used the system and participated in our accelerated fitness programs. As stated previously, muscle intensity is relative and subjective, and so the ultimate proof of the effectiveness of the Afterburner® machines and methods are is best realized when learned by first hand experience.
