When I was first introduced to the Afterburner concept on paper I had my reservations. As a professional athlete, my weight training regimen from its conception has consisted of the conventional resistance methods, such as free weights and plate loaded or weight stacked machines. I was skeptical, this industry takes no prisoners when it comes to health and fitness. People are not willing to take a chance with their personal well-being, and companies that produce workout equipment quickly see the fruits of their labour cast into one of two categories:

   A: A ground breaking concept that will produce desired results and change the way we workout
   or
   B: A gimmick that has does nothing for the consumer and is just a quick money grab.

People want results, not false hope. Needless to say I went and tried it out.

It wasn't until I began to fatigue during my reps on the retro-fitted Precor s315 (a quality product in its own right) that I realized the Afterburner was no gimmick. I felt my muscles burning to the point of exhaustion, however because the weight was reducing during the reps, I was able to continue pushing myself. I watched my progress on the tracking screen and was continually motivated to get one more in. The great thing about it was, although the weight had been reduced by 70-80% during the exercise, it still felt as though I was lifting the resistance of the initial target weight. The muscular activation and prolonged intensity that I went through in one set was unreal. It really felt like I had done about three sets. The fatigue that I experienced during my set also reassured me that I had challenged my bodies aerobic energy system, something that every athlete needs to develop in order maintain a high level of performance over a long period a time, be it a 4 quarter football game or a marathon.

Now that I have tried out the Afterburner Strength System, I realize that my initial skepticism can be replaced by a refreshed optimism as it pertains to the direction of the fitness world. In today's society, people want results as fast as possible from the pursuits they involve themselves in. And with the economy the way it is, we also want a sure thing. Health and Fitness are no different.

Fortunately with the development of the Afterburner Strength system those who are in pursuit of physical results will get what they came for, a sure thing and faster results. Definitely a product that falls into the aforementioned column A.
